FDR Drive

Two views of the FDR Drive, which runs up the east side of Manhattan. First at Corlears Hook on the Lower East Side, where the road is at ground level and residents need to use pedestrian bridges to get to the waterfront. Next, at 81st Street on the Upper East Side where the road was built on two different levels (one for each direction) with a promenade on top.

African Burial Ground - National Monument

During construction of a new federal office building in the early 1990s, remains of over 400 African Americans were discovered, dating back to the 1600s-1700s. The remains were eventually reinterred at this site, close to where they were originally found. This is at Duane Street near Broadway, near City Hall
