Two mosaics at Flushing Meadows-Carona Park, the site of two New York City World's Fairs in 1939 and 1964. The first is "Robert Moses" (by Andy Warhol). Moses was one of the key people behind the 1964-65 fair. The second mosaic is "Fountain of the Planets" (I don't know who the artist is).

I frequently pass by this building (at 22nd Street & Park Ave South), but, never noticed the details until today.

Here are a couple of unique trees that are indigenous to urban areas like New York City. It's rare to find all three of these species growing so close together. But, here you'll find the Corona Beer Box Tree, the Balloon Tree, and a few variations of the Plastic Bag. (click photo to enlarge)
