Statues of Liberty on Parade - These Statues on Parade are all over town, celebrating the 2008 MLB All Star Game in NYC. This has to be my favorite - the New York Mets!

Waterfalls in the East River - a temporary art project consisting of 4 artificial waterfalls. This one, at the Brooklyn tower of the Brooklyn Bridge, seems to be the favorite.

OK, I looked out a 2nd floor window and saw this thing coming towards the intersection. But, I'm still not sure what I really saw. There didn't appear to be anyplace up front where someone could have been driving. As inconceivable as it seems, it looked like the guy in the bucket at the rear is driving.

The East River Amphitheater. The seats are empty now. But, hopefully they'll be filled and the weather nice for this weekend's free concert sponsored by the East River Music Project. The amphitheater was recently refurbished after being abandoned, in a state of disrepair, for many years. My Junior High School graduation was held here about 40 years ago!

One of the two MetLife blimps flying near a Lower East Side high-rise. I can't tell if this is Snoopy One or Snoopy Two.

A view of the old Forward Building rising above the treetops of Seward Park on the Lower East Side (I posted a closeup of the entrance a few weeks ago). This building is the former home of the Jewish Daily Forward newspaper. This week it gained notoriety as the home of actress Tatum O'Neal, who had a scuffle with the law around the corner from here. No, I don't know which (if any) of these are Tatum's windows. And, no, I don't live in the apartment from which this photo was taken.

I always thought something was odd about the "fire escape" and plants on this building. But, I never quite figured out what it was until today. It's probably not a fire escape at all... it's the only one on this side of the building and doesn't appear to go anywhere. It looks like it's just there to give the flowers someplace to live.
