A couple of snaps from a moving train on the Metro North Harlem line - first is passing over E. 125th Street, 2nd is approaching the Harlem River looking towards the 138th Street Bridge.

Stuyvesant Town
Some Photoshop fun - trying to make a dull photo look not so dull. The first image is straight from the camera. The 2nd is after processing with Adobe Camera Raw + Photoshop + Topaz. This is the south side of Stuyvesant Town on E 14th Street between 1st Ave and Ave A.

Flushing Tracks
Elevated subway tracks on the No. 7 Flushing line looking east from the 111th Street station. The center tracks lead down and to the right - to the Corona rail yard, where the Flushing trains live. The 111th Street station is a local stop. Express service bypasses this station via the "flyover" tracks above.

Wise Guys Standing Guard
I rarely get to see the Williamsburg Bridge from this vantage point. In the foreground is upper half of Public School 110, with a bunch of wise old owls standing guard on its roof. Beyond is the Manhattan approach to the Williamsburg Bridge with it's elevated "hamster cage" pedestrian/bike path.

Sightseeing
Taken through a taxi window - a tour bus on the streets of Soho. I wonder what the sightseer in the window is looking at.

Bowery
Experimenting with HDR processing using a single Raw image instead of shooting multiple images at different exposures. This was taken from a moving taxi, which would have made aligning multiple images difficult, if not impossible. The first image is HDR - the 2nd is standard non-HDR. Not a dramatic difference overall, but I think the HDR version does show more details in the light and dark areas.
These are some of the new residential buildings (some may be dorms) that have popped up on the Bowery in recent years.

Trees
Walking in Greenwhich Village, I came across this tangle of tree trunks and branches - bare just a few weeks ago, now filling out with color
