  1. Very nice shot. Have you ever been hassled by the the PD or Rail Authorities for taking those kind of shots? Just curious.

  2. Yes, I've been stopped while taking photos in the subway a couple of times - sometimes by cops who were misinformed about the law. Other times (like while photographing planes on approach to LaGuardia Airport from the Willets Point station) by transit workers who threatened to call the cops, citing security concerns, if I didn't leave. It's perfectly legal to take photos in the subway provided you're not using a tripod or flash. But, IMO, it's wiser to not argue the point. When confronted by police, I just move on. I did not move on so fast at Willets Point, though. I took the photos then hopped on the next train. Again, I wasn't doing anything illegal - or anything that would compromise any sort of security. As someone who stood frozen on the street watching the first plane fly overhead and into the WTC on 9/11, I'm very sensitive to these issues.
