2 for 1: Essex Street between Stanton & Houston Streets. First, as it looks today followed by a photo from September 2008. A fence has been added which blends with the building line and includes lamps that match the old-fashioned street lamps on the block.

    Hey Joel, thanks for the comments. I'll keep watchin' your blog. You've got some great stuff. We're already planning another trip to NYC. BTW, good work with the F200. I'm sure it's a great camera, as is the f100. I toted my 30D around the first 2 days there. The other 2 I just traveled light with my F100. If you didn't see it, check my "bryant park" post and click on the link to Rick Lee. He's a local pro and most of his blog posts are with the F100 (all produce from week 122 are f100).
