Old Railroad Bridge
I recently came across what remains of this old railroad bridge in the Hudson River at Riverside Park near W. 69th Street. The bridge was formerly a transfer bridge on the New York Central Railroad, allowing rail cars to transfer onto barges to cross the river. This site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Subway Tracks
Two views of of subway tracks from above. First: way below ground at 168th Street, Washington Heights, Manhattan (where you need to use an elevator to get to the platform). Second: high above the East River on the Williamsburg Bridge, between Manhattan and Brooklyn [click photo to enlarge]

The Met
The Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center. The fronts of the steps, in the foreground, electronically display current and upcoming events, etc. I used HDR processing to be able to see thru the windows of The Met despite the bright daylight outside. Normally, I would not do this with so many people in the scene (moving people and multiple exposures don't really mix well because their positions change from exposure to exposure). But, I figured I'd get away with it in this case given how insignificant the people look against the larger subject behind them. There are a few "trouble" spots around some of the people. But, overall, I think it's an acceptable compromise in this case.
