Stuy Town Pumpkins

The Christmas tree at the Stuyvesant Town Oval. A resident told me that the star at the top is a hand-me-down that had been used on the Rockefeller Center tree in past years. Tishman-Speyer owns both properties, so, it may be true.

I took a slow bus ride down 5th Avenue this evening. Thanks to traffic, the bus stopped long enough for me to grab this shot of a couple gazing at one of the many holiday windows along the avenue.

I passed thru this park today, at Cortland St. & Broadway - just a block away from where I used to work. It's been quite a while since I've been here on a weekday.

Yesterday was the last night this season for the Empire State Buildings Christmas colors (red, white & green). The top of the building is lit most of the year. The colors are changed for different holidays and events.

It may not be Saks Fifth Avenue, but, Frank's Bike Shop (a local Lower East Side business) puts on a wonderful Christmas display in their windows every year. This photo really doesn't do the display justice. But, while the photo itself may be unremarkable, it's special to me. It's my first done completely on a Mac (although I must admit that part of the workflow was done in a virtual Windows machine running on the Mac).
