George Washington Bridge

The George Washington Bridge seen from Hudson Heights, one of the highest land elevations in Manhattan. The bridge opened in 1931 and connects Manhattan with New Jersey, spanning the mighty Hudson River. The high land elevations on both sides of the GW Bridge offers some unique perspectives compared to other suspension bridges. While the towers rise above street level the suspended portion of the bridge is at or slightly above street level. This shot was taken from street level just north of the bridge.

NYPost Jet Skiing

Jet Skiing on the East River past the Two Bridges section of Manhattan's Lower East Side. The long, light-colored low-rise building is the former home of the New York Post daily newspaper. It is now (I believe) a self-storage facility. The apartment buildings immediately behind that are Knickerbocker Village. Confucius Plaza is the tall apartment tower in the left background. And, of course, the skyscraper at the distant right background is the Empire State Building. From June 2012 taken from an East River ferry.

The siding is almost all the way up the side of the new One World Trade Center building and the spire is partially constructed up on top. To the left of 1WTC in the distance is the top of the Municipal Building and the Woolworth Building. Seen from Henry Street, Lower East Side, Manhattan.

Stuy Stacks

Smokestacks at the Con Ed steam plant on Avenue C & E. 14th Street, behind Stuyvesant Town. This is the plant where a huge explosion during the height of Hurricane Sandy shook the residents in neighboring Stuy Town apartment buildings.
